What did we learn in week 3 of college football? Penn State Nittany Lions
Now think about it. Is Penn State really a good football team? I mean no wonder they are always showing Joe Paterno in the press box so often during the game. It's so the viewers don't have to watch the team. So when Penn state beat Indiana State in week 1 everybody thought that the lions were back. Well in the next two weeks those people were proven wrong. In week 2 they got dominated by Alabama and in week 3 they almost lost to Temple! One more time...Temple! Okay some may argue that Temple is a good team and I would agree as they have been to a bowl game in the last few seasons. But when you compare the talent on each team, Penn State should handily beat the owls. The final score was Penn State 14 Temple 10. Now, you know the saying is that if you have two quarterbacks then you don't really have one and that is the case with Penn State. Their offense has not been productive at all this year and it is because their quarterback situation. They have Matt McGloin who is the typical pocket passer and very efficient. Their other option is Rob Bolden who is extremely inefficient and is not a pocket passer but can run the ball. I think what we learned from the Nittany Lions is that if Joe Paterno wants Penn State to contend and if he wants the offense to produce, then he has to make a decision to settle on one gunslinger.
